As you know, Walt Disney World is festively decorated during the holiday season. The parks and hotels are all decked out with lights, garland, wreaths, Christmas trees and other holiday decorations. It really is a wonderful and special time to visit! However, I realize visiting Walt Disney World during this time isn’t something that everyone can do. So, for those who have never been or who won’t be visiting during the holiday season this year, I’d like to know what would you like me to take pictures or a video of and include in my Christmas blog?

“What Would You Like To See In My Christmas Blog”
As you think about what you would like me to include in my Christmas blog I’d like you to suggest photos or videos that 1) aren’t a special paying event like MVMCP or the Candlelight Processional and 2) that there aren’t lots pictures already up on the internet. For example, there are thousands of pictures that have been taken of the Cinderella Castle Dream Lights. So, a blog of those pictures would be old news.

In the coming weeks I will blog on more “favorite” things to do in Walt Disney World. Also, let me know if you have any suggestions as to other things you would like to see “top lists” of. I’m open to any and all suggestions. So far readers have suggested I blog on Favorite Disney snacks, deserts and characters. Great ideas! What do you think? Based on the number of comments, I think you all agree that these are fun to do.
And the winner is: the winner of the AllEars® baseball cap for commenting on my “How do you plan your WDW vacations” blog is: Elizabeth MacGregor from Virginia. Congratulations to Liz and “thank you” to everyone who took the time to share their “How do you plan your WDW vacations” and all the loyal AlllEars® readers!
I also want to comment on last weeks blog: One of the more popular Cast Member roles mentioned was working at the Haunted Mansion. Seems that a lot of reader have a great sense of humor. Actually, that’s something that’s needed in many of the WDW roles. However, the majority of those who commented wanted a role that has lots of interaction with guests. That’s where the joy of working for Disney comes. Thanks to all who took the time to comment. It’s much appreciated!
Did you know AllEars® has a huge area called Rate and Review where you can share your dining reviews with fellow readers? Check it out!
Finally, be one of the first people to hear when my newest blogs go live on AllEars.net by joining “DisneyMike’s World” Facebook group.
Well, that’s all for now. As my good friend says, “see ya real soon”…DizneyMike
Hey, see this little green button? Well, it allows you to share this blog with your family and friends quite easily. Give it a try; it’s pretty neat!
Decorations. Any decorations at all – but particularly, if you get a chance, those that reflect a sort of “ethnic” theme – i.e. at Animal Kingdom Lodge or Polynesian Resort.
Thank you!!!
Mike, how about pictures of the specific holiday decortations that are themed specifically for that hotel, or the different Christmas story tellers from around World Showcase?
I’d love to see the decorations the guests at Ft Wilderness have put up this year, as I only got to sample a small bit last week.
I’d also like to see the Holiday Cast Member Costumes!

Hi Mike –
I’d love to see a video of the decorations in and around all the resorts – a large proposition, but free.
I’d also love to see how the Happy Campers over at Fort Wilderness Campground festoon their sites with Christmas paraphernalia (you know, lights, blow-ups, plastic light up thingies, etc.) – another freebie!
And pix or a video of the various Holiday foods, from snacks to meals, being served up throughout the world.

Hi Mike
We’ve been lucky to go twice during holidays (early Dec.–best time, less crowds but everything is up).
Covering the restaurant decorations would be nice since you obviously can’t see them all. Hotel decorations would be nice, too, although we tend to get around at least to the deluxe resorts to see everything. The window displays, especially at Magic Kingdom, are rather unique during the holidays. I was lucky in that I was able to snap all of the ones pertaining to A Christmas Carol. The window photos are usually the best of the lot and the holiday ones were amazing.
Thanks so much for doing this; wish I was coming down (from Cleveland area) this year.
Best wishes for a great holiday, Mike.
Hi Mike Thank You So Much For Doing This For Those Of Us That Are Not Able To Go This Time Of Year.
My husband Jack and I usual go this time of year we were married at WDW December 6Th 2001. But we decided this year we would go for the food & wine festival. We always stay at Beach Club in the Villas and I’m gonna miss the Beach Clubs Lobby Decorations. The Christmas Tree at EPCOT and of course the Tree at the Grand Floridian Holds a special place in our hearts as well.
Thank You Mike We Just Love Your Blogs =)
Keep Up The Great Work or Should I Say Magical Work =)
Jack & Stacy Reed
Thanks Mike! I would like to see some of the diferent Christmas costumes that the cast members wear.
What about crowds during christmas week?
DizneyMike replies: Gaudi, Christmas week is the busiest week of the year. So, you can expect very big crowds….Mike
Mike,
I would like to see a blog on some of the different treats/foods that are sold throughout WDW during the Christmas season. Your blogs are always great. Keep up the good work.
Hi Mike,
Since there are so many photos and videos of the Osborne Lights at night going during the day might be fun! Sometimes you miss seeing the cute displays such as a snowman in a telephone booth or Santa sitting in a police car.
Mike,
I agree with some of the others, I would love to see pics of all the resorts decorated. Even though I have been at Disney just right after Thanksgiving and have seen some of the decorations at the resorts, we just didn’t have time to see them all- I’ve heard that the ones over at Ft. Wilderness are just great! I also would like to hear not only the Voices of Liberty, but also the Dapper Dans as well. It really is hard to catch these two groups and they both do such a great job with other things, that I imagine their Christmas offerings would be wonderful!
Mike I would agree with the first comment the resorts are often overlooked by many and have such wonderful decorations and alot of work goes into them. I myself have not seen them all yet but I plan to cross alot off this season.
I’d love to see pictures of the different window displays. I know I always have a hard time photographing these, with the reflections and lighting – maybe you know how to work some magic! I’d also love to see pictures of the hotels’ gingerbread houses – not the huge elaborate ones, but the more simple but still beautiful ones made by cast members. We went to a local Christmas tree festival today that also featured gingerbread houses, and it made me very nostalgic for the ones we saw at the Polynesian a few years back. Detailed shots of the ornaments featured on various trees throughout the World would also be appreciated! Is that enough to keep you busy for the next month? 🙂 Thanks for helping to bring WDW into our homes!
I hear the “residents” of Fort Wilderness do a great job decorating their campsites, but I’ve never seen this. Possible photo-blog??
Mike,
I would like to see how different restaurants are decorated, especially the ones in the different countries in Epcot. Also, if there are special holiday foods/menu items that might be unique to that country for the holidays, I would like to see those as well. Keep up the good work. I always look forward to your blogs!
I’d like to see a video of the Voices of Liberty singing some Christmas music!
I have yet to see them perform when we’ve been to WDW, and as a singer myself I have a huge appreciation for what they do!
Merry Christmas!
Amanda
Hi –
I would like to see pictures and/or stories about the different decorations, what the parks, rides, merchandise, characters…look like (to bad you couldn’t do scratch n’ sniff). So I can close my eyes and have a mental vacation.
Love reading your blogs, so I am sure what ever you come up with will be great!
Merry Christmas!!
Gina
Mike: I’d like to see blogs about the decor at the resort hotels. Not just the Gingerbread House at the Grand Floridian, but how the decor goes with a particular resort’s “theme”. Also, showcasing the different edible displays, especially those that change from year to year would be nice
Jose
Lots of laughter and happy tears. Huge smiles and jaws dropping. Faces filled with wonder. This stuff happens all year round I know, but Christmas time makes them even more magical.
