A Ferryboat and Resort Motor Launch on the Seven Seas Lagoon.

Walt Disney World was designed to use watercraft as a major way to move people around the huge entertainment and resort complex. In my Disney Pic of the Week on Watercraft I choose this photo showing two of the watercarft used on the Seven Seas Lagoon for guests. The large Ferryboat travels from the Ticket & Transportation Center to the Magic Kingdom and back with up to 600 guests. The smaller Resort Motor Launches brings guests to the Magic Kingdom from the beautiful resorts on the shores of the Seven Seas Lagoon and Bay Lake.
Ah, the monorail. I’ve been using it to try and orientate myself on the Seven Seas. I just can’t figure out where the pic was taken from.
Scott replies: Josh, I was on another motor launch heading to the Grand Floridian for dinner. The launch in this photo was heading away from the Grand Floridian.
Here’s something to notice. Look at the Ferry Boat, notice it’s a mirror image of itself, both ends of the boat are identical. Know why? So the boat never has to turn around! The boat pulls straight into the dock, unloads and loads, the pilot then walks to the opposite end of the boat and then drives straight out of the dock to the opposite side of the Seven Seas Lagoon, to again pull straight into the dock. Just think how much time this saves and how much more efficiently Disney moves guests from one dock to the other!
